Anna Stephen Tanner is an American born artist, and curator from Atlanta, GA, currently practicing in Toronto, ON. Her work, primarily oil based, is saturated and expressive, exploring sexuality and identity through figurative imagery. She focuses on exploring the multifaceted aspect of existing as a queer woman within the context of her upbringing amongst rigid southern values.

Receiving the Cerasani Award & Grant from The Harley School, and graduating with Honors from Sheridan College, she is working on her BFA at OCADU for Criticism and Curatorial Practices. Her work has been exhibited at Gallery 1313, and her most recent curatorial work involved a collaborative show titled, “Vices, A Pulse That Beats Louder Than Reason” held at Ada Slight Gallery.
